We will soon be hosting
one-day filmmaking workshops in June and 2 dates have been announced!
- 16th and 17th June
The workshop explores how to produce films sensitively and ethically so contributors feel heard and respected. Learn from our 20+ years of making co-produced films. Our values and approach mirror the principles of co-production so you will take away techniques and strategies that puts you in good stead to make films with people - rather than just about them.
Co-produced filmmaking is working with and alongside everyone involved throughout the whole filmmaking process so contributors have valuable input and feel ownership. There are many benefits to working in this way including strengthening skills and relationships, empowering individuals and communities and creating more heartfelt, authentic and impactful films.
- Learn through demonstrations of real practice how to film and support.
- Plan, interview and film your own material during the workshop.
- Discover approaches and tools that encourage inclusivity and confidence.
- Learn how to make decisive edit decisions.
- Plan well to succesfully meet deadlines.
- Receive information packs and practical resources to support your filmmaking.
- Join a community network so peer learning continues after the workshop.
- Access on-going training, support and resources from Flexible Films.
The day will be relaxed and fun with interactive learning, filming activities, presentations, and discussions.
As well as teaching practical filmmaking techniques, the course also looks at co-production values and how they can be applied to filmmaking.
Participants will enjoy learning in a comfortable and welcoming setting with two rooms.
Beginners and people who have experience of producing films are all welcome so if you work with groups or individuals where film can be used, this course is for you. Some knowledge of co-production is helpful but not essential. Flexible Films have a unique way of working and will share their experiences, approaches and tips.
Each day is limited to 12 participants so book a space soon to avoid dissappointment.
The workshop is of great value at £250 per individual.
