A big thanks to Flexible Films for everything over the past year or so. They make what could be very stressful, somewhat painless and actually enjoyable! They have been a pleasure to work with, consummate professionals throughout, while friendly, approachable and really hard working. You could see their commitment to the content not just the practical side of filming. It was great to share a passion for the project. Here's to the next time.

Flexible Films produced a series of short films for us to go on the Time to Change website. They are great to work with in many ways – friendly, good communicators, conscientious about delivering on time and always responsive to our requests and questions. They were sensitive to our requirements - we especially appreciated that they really listened and took our feedback on board during the editing process. It was also great to work with people who really get what we do and were just as committed and passionate about the project as we are. We were very pleased with the end products, in particular the case study films that they made for us. I’m sure we will be working with them again in future!

We selected Flexible Films to work with us on a project where people who use health and social care services had been doing their own research. Their proposal for the project stood out amongst the others because they obviously understood the relevant issues. Their way of working fitted with what our project was about - service users having control. This was borne out in the films where service users are portrayed in inspiring and empowering ways. All those involved with filming had really enjoyable and positive experiences. Flexible Films have a real skill for listening to what is required and always responded in a completely constructive way to feedback. They were a joy to work with.

We used Flexible Films to make a short promotional video for our company website. They were very professional and met our brief to perfection. They were very flexible when it came to filming schedules and were more than happy to travel to ‘real’ locations to film works being carried out. Everybody who was involved in the film were pleased with the final result. Enthusiastic, Reliable and Co-operative are just a few words to sum up Flexible Films.

Flexible Films approached this project with great understanding and respect for both staff and service users, making us all feel comfortable and confident to be on camera. They were extremely responsive to feedback from our staff, patients and community stakeholder groups, and ensured that all of our project deadlines were met. Both staff and service users commented on the positive approach taken by Flexible Films, we really enjoyed working with them.

Camden Council commissioned Flexible Films to produce a training film. They brought all the technical skills one would anticipate in a film production company to the project. Equally important has been their excellent collaborative approach to it.

They worked closely with a core group of Camden staff and residents to shape and edit the content. They have an easy way about them, which puts people at their ease and instills confidence and trust, essential to this project. They undertook the work with sensitivity, care, patience and adaptability whilst delivering on time at all stages. We are very pleased with the outcome and their work on it and I would happily recommend them.

Working with Flexible Films was such a joy. They understood what we needed straight away, they offered really great insight along the way and communication was always clear, straightforward, professional and very friendly. I like the care they took whilst working to tight deadlines - and I really appreciated how flexible they were with us. Our film achieved everything we hoped it would, so a really big thank for being such a great team to work with – I look forward to working with you again.

This DVD has been produced and edited by Flexible Films in conjunction with an adult mental health user group (Inspirational Filmworks). Flexible Films have trained and guided this group to a very high professional standard. I have experienced Sybil and Russ enabling the adult mental health users to be included in all aspects of the process. It appeared effortless and included all of the users even those with lower abilities. Flexible Films managed to make the users feels valued and enabled them to see themselves as co-workers. This facilitated a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm in the users’ group. Making this DVD was the most enjoyable part of the overall production of our handbook due to Sybil’s and Russ’ elegant and highly professional leadership skills.

We worked with Flexible Films on producing a film to show ‘A day in the life of’ our recording studios. The production team worked really well with us and knew what we wanted to achieve and as a result, the film portrayed our business as a friendly, professional and really creative place to work in. The film has had a great impact on sales and interest in our services.

This was a complex project – the launch date of the DVD kept changing, there were many people taking part in the film, and many stakeholders involved in the sign-off process. We needed Flexible Films to be flexible in their approach and they more than lived up to their name. We also wanted the film to be emotive and for interviewees to come across naturally. Flexible Films were able to establish a good rapport with the interviewees, and as a result were able to elicit warm and heartfelt responses. The film did it’s job – Metropolitan Housing Trust was voted in.

During the past few months, staff and people supported at United Response have been working with Flexible Films to produce a training resource on health and safety and risk management. They have been a pleasure to work with, ensuring that the planning and execution of the filming went without a hitch, and that all participants, particularly the people supported by United Response, were at ease and had fun while filming. I have no hesitation in recommending them to other social care organisations.

Flexible Films are a small and professional outfit and have lived up to their name in the DVD recently produced at this University. The DVD featured a range of service users expressing their views of social work interventions. What has impressed has been the attention to detail. All participants were treated with considerable skill and respect. All meetings and filming were carefully arranged and honoured. All participants valued their relationship with Sybil and filming was sensitive and empowering for all the participants. Flexible films brought with them experience and awareness of relevant social issues and in particular, they paid attention to every aspect of the process, from initial negotiation, contracting, relationship building, filming and finally a launch event which as before, reflected the ethos and values of the project.

Flexible Films have been great to work with from start to finish. From making the process of being filmed seem very natural and putting even the nervous contributor at ease - to telling a story that’s the rare combination of informative on the one hand, but very watchable on the other. Every step was well explained, well planned, well executed and even fun.

Flexible Films produced the promotional film for TGTV. They have the ability to translate your ideas into memorable images on screen, which is essential if you want to convey a message in a short timeframe. They have a relaxed style which makes them easy to work with on a project, but combine this with an extremely professional approach to delivery. I am looking forward to working with them much more in the future.

I would like to say that I'm really impressed by the high quality of what you have done, by the evident professionalism with which you have accomplished this difficult task. In my opinion, the film gives a very good impression of school habits and school life, and is very informative. So, many thanks and be assured that we very much appreciate this film and I know it will be attractive for Swiss pupils and schools.

Working with Flexible Films was such an easy process for us and we were delighted with the results. They were extremely supportive with our staff and services users, and they helped everyone involved in the film making process relax and think it was part of their day-to-day roles. They really understand the nature of mental health and what it means to receive the right support. I would highly recommend their services.

Flexible Films made it their business to find out exactly what we wanted. When you make a film for language teaching, you need a very exact text, and they let us intervene much more than I think they would normally do. They were also extremely good with the pupils – put them at their ease, made them feel important, and coaxed great performances out of them. And they took enormous care to get exactly what they – and we – wanted. The film is great. It will be perfect for the Swiss kids and their teachers. We'd love to work with Flexible again.

We chose Flexible Films because we'd come across their work and liked the way they tackled disability and exclusion issues in a supportive, creative but also very high quality way. We're a small organisation working with people with learning difficulties and we had funding to produce a DVD about a new law. We had lots of ideas and we had all the people but we had no experience of making films and no media department to deal with it. We chose Flexible because we knew they would be totally reliable, very professional and also very friendly and accommodating in terms of working with people with learning difficulties. It all turned out brilliantly. Everyone worked very hard and the DVD was fantastic. Sybil and Russ are like members of the family now! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any user-led groups wanting to make films. We hope we can work with them again soon!

Flexible Films produced a promo film to show the process of how I make ceramics. Prior to the filming, they made sure they understood what I wanted the film to look like and what I wanted filmed. The film is fantastic and I was very impressed with how it showed the quality of my work - also the way it wove the interview into the visuals with the music too. Flexible Films Rock!

We used Flexible Films to produce a number of films as a form of communication with residents, and staff. Sybil and Russell were fantastic, working with us on content and contributing their own style to the presentation of information, which really helped residents and staff understand issues better. As we had little experience in making films their assistance and suggestions made the process practically pain free.'

After discussing with them the film's specifications and what the project wanted to get across, they came up with some innovative and imaginative ideas. They were also very professional, reliable, put the trainees at ease before any filming took place and kept us abreast on the film's development. The DVD was produced to the deadline given which gave us the opportunity to show it in the OPEN DAYS event in Brussels.

Flexible Films worked with us in producing experiential films for our training package. They had some exciting ways of using film to allow workshop participants to connect with key emotional issues. They were insightful and also came up with some innovative ideas. Participants have fed back that the films are a crucial part of the training day.

Flexible Films always gave a very clear timetable for the work and stuck firmly to this. Deadlines were always met. One of the highlights of working with Flexible Films was the very clear ethos they had about working alongside the subjects of the film. Communication was clear throughout the process of working with Flexible Films, this is both between them and ourselves as commissioners and between them and the participants .

Contact was maintained via email and telephone calls throughout the process. All queries were responded to quickly and clearly. Overall the project was managed professionally and efficiently at all times. The filmmakers were clearly passionate about making the film and about making the voices of those in the film heard to the best possible effect. Working with them has been an easy and enjoyable process. We would not hesitate to use them again.

What we wanted was a service that allowed users to express what it's like living with this illness. We knew the process would be as important as the end product. Getting people together in a group, getting them to take responsibility, and engage in a daily routine, is part and parcel of the film group. On a weekly basis I have seen a difference. People are more confident, they have more self- esteem and more camaraderie. This has shown us that there is a different way of doing things.'

Attending the course run by Flexible Films changed my life around. Sybil & Russ engaged everyone within the group, at all the different levels, and made it into a course we all learnt at a level appropriate to each of us. It was quite frankly amazing. They didn't just teach me how to direct documentaries, they taught me life skills. Sybil & Russ have extraordinary patience, when they teach, they also have fantastic senses of humour, which makes it easy to learn from them and work with them. They are both impressive teachers, and from doing their courses, I've gone onto get a LOCN in video editing and have written and co-directed a short drama.

We found it very easy to work with Flexible films and would do so again; they understood what we wanted and were committed to helping us achieve it but were also able to give us some guidance as to what would look best on film. The finished film is of a high standard and is the end product of a real collaboration between the filmmakers and the participants / contributors. The process was completed on time and to budget and has been very well received when shown.

Flexible Films initially produced a video and DVD called Moving Back, and then a further film called 'This is How We Do It'. Both films were explaining to the community how the process of regeneration worked, and the parties involved. I was one of many interviewees/subjects – and found that Flexible Films were very easy to work with, in that they explained how they would film and had prepared the script to ensure all aspects of the topic were covered. We shot both in an office and out on location. The film-makers were both proficient and user-friendly; and the whole experience was enjoyable with the resulting films being very watchable. There was an understanding of the topic, and the audience, which meant the films successfully reached their target.
