About Us
Flexible Films are an award winning production company. The directors are Sybil Ah-mane and Russell Hall. Both have studied film to MA level, Russell graduated from The London College of Printing in 1998 and Sybil at Goldsmiths College in 1999. We have vast experience of filmmaking and our skills include filming, interviewing, producing, editing and directing. As our core team is small, we are able to work quickly and efficiently. This makes projects very good value for money and keeps the overhead costs down. Producing film is our passion and we approach each project, small or large with equal enthusiasm. We have been filmmaking since 1997. Most projects need a crew of 2 but if more skilled workers are required, we have a number of experienced strategic partners we can work with. These partners have been professionally trained at, amongst others The National Film and Television School and Goldsmiths College and whose skills include producing, editing, directing, music composition and animating. We also have close links with multi-media artists, actors, presenters, directors of photography and photographers. We co-ordinate and manage them for larger projects whilst ensuring the quality of their work reaches our own high standards. We can also online films at professional online edit suites if the project requires. Before setting up Flexible Films, Sybil worked for 6 years as a freelance Director and cameraperson for a women’s organisation and Russell worked on several independent projects as cameraperson, sound recordist and editor. He is also a qualified media teacher and has worked at several colleges in and around London. To date, we have produced over 50 films - all commissioned pieces ranging from documentaries, to docu-dramas and training films. We received the Newham Film Fund in 2003 and produced ‘Two Other Stories’ which has been shown several times on the Community Channel. We also work on our own self-funded projects producing issue-based documentaries. We have the skills to make all types of films including:
